Who: Charley
Walters
What: It was another challenging week unearthing
any blatant provincial takes due to the underachieving nature
of the local sports teams. Yes, a broad brush could be stroked
at nearly the entire local sports press for failing to ask
the most pertinent question surrounding the Fran Foley debacle:
Who was most responsible for hiring him?
The first two paragraphs in "Shooter's" Friday
column fit the profile of provincialism that could have easily
been misidentified for prose from Sid. Defending the Tavaris
Jackson draft (by referencing other teams interest) and "home
spun" tidbit about Joe Mauer speaking to middle school
kids demonstrates subtle homerism.
Bottom Line: Tweet-Tweet
