Who: Mike Max
What: Ducky and Bunny (Allen and Dubay) continued their propensity for implausible takes. Dubay blamed a poor pitching performance by rookie sensation Francisco Liriano on jet lag. Allen called the Gopher head football coach “elite” as he lobbied for himself to host a weekly coaches show (could those two egos fit in the same studio?).
Ultimately, the banter between studio anchor Mike Max and colleague Mark Rosen (live feed from the MLB All-Star game in Pittsburgh) led us the way to the H.O.W.
Max and Rosen corn-balled it up about the Twins All-Star selections and Maxie complimented Rosen for doing a great job with his live reports from the ball park...(great job of doing what?)
What tipped the scales between with these two cheerleaders was Max stating “It was an All-American moment for an All-American boy” in describing Joe Mauer’s appearance at the game.
Bottom Line: We may have come face to face with the future WCCO Channel 4 sports this past week and the picture is not pretty.
